Hotel Wireless Security and Bad Experience Design
I just returned to my hotel after being away for a while and opened my laptop to be greeted by this particularly cheeky dialogue box.

Added reCAPTCHA to the site
I just added reCAPTCHA to the site to prevent spambots. I previously was using the plain vanilla CAPTCHA, but the text version isn't very secure and I thought the image version was excessively unreadable. reCAPTCHA is a web service, which is nice from a configuration perspective.
I really wish it wasn't necessary to use this at all - it's a pain for end users - but something has to be done to prevent comment spam.
For those of you wondering in the world CAPTCHA is, it's this block you now see on my site and others.
