This is a really big problem and im very surprised more people are not pointing it out in the various iPhone 3G / 2.0 reviews which i've seen.
This is typical though in the sense that the Apple press will ignore the negative :(.
Everyone I know (and i know a lot of people) that have the new iPhone or upgraded to 2.0 like me on the old phone are having application crashes, slow performance (mostly on startup of an app) and one guy even had to do a hard reset after a myserious phone failure.
Overall though to be fair i still like the phone, i think its a great platform and will help push the industry. Good luck to the Apple dev team, i know its not easy producing quality software and having full control of the device i guess this time didnt help much.
